We are honored and thrilled to announce that we just received notice from the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNANCA), a highly respected human rights organization associated with the United Nations, that PFFC was selected to receive this year’s Community Human Rights Award.

Every year, on December 10 (International Human Rights Day), UNANCA honors five internationally recognized human rights leaders and organizations.  The Community Human Rights Award, bestowed on the People for Fairness Coalition (PFFC), is one of the five honorees in 2020.

The UNA-NCA Community Human Rights Award is presented to persons and organizations who have:1) Provided leadership to advance the cause of human rights through a local group or organization in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and/or Northern Virginia area and; 2) Demonstrated personal and professional contributions to advance the cause of human rights in the public, private, and/or non-profit sector.

Prior Community Human Rights Awardees include: World Central Kitchen, Empower DC, Bread for the City, & Martha’s Table.

The awards will be presented on December 10 on a Google event, as opposed to the annual reception in place prior to COVID-19
